78-year-old folksinger, guitarist, and teacher Sheila Dardashti began to write the songs for her debut album, Build Me A Home, during the pandemic. Something compelled her to try to make sense out of the upside-down world in which she found herself. Sheila’s songs—inspired by her family members—reflect a longing to be close to family and community at a time when we were forced to keep our distance. The songs speak of love, compassion, honesty, and her hope for a world without fear.
